No one has fought as hard as the Lecea family to preserve the ancestral and artisanal tradition of grape treading. Located in the historical bodega district of San Asensio, the Leceas have gradually assembled old 16th century underground cellars to form an extraordinary maze. Bodegas Lecea won the Best of Wine Tourism Architecture 2018 award for the renovation of their cellars, locally known as calados, and the prize for the best wine tourism experience in Spain for their Grape Treading Festival.
